The meeting opened with a

singing of a hymn with Mrs.
Ross Scott at the piano. Mrs.
Berry read the scripture.
The offering for September
was taken and a dollar for July
and August was also collected
as a summer project.
Mrs. Haugh told of her trip to
the East Coast which was most
interesting and enjoyed by all.
This part of the meeting closed
with a hymn and prayer. by
Mars. Berry.
The president, Mrs. John
Henderson had charge of the
business meeting, and Mrs.
Ervin Siliery read t+e minutes
of the last meeting and the
treasurer's report was given by
Mrs, Berry.
Plans were finalized to attend
the regional meeting to beheld
in Wesley -Willis United Church
in Clinton on October 4. and the
Brucefield Thankoffering, to be
held on October 14.
Mrs: Henderson closed the
meeting with a poem and a
delicious lunch was served. by
Mrs. Henderson and Mrs. E.
"Thomson.

Mrs. E. Stephens has
returned home after spending
some time with her daughter,
who is recovering from
surgery.
Mr. and Mrs. Barry Lyndon
spent Saturday in Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Stoll are
improving slowly in University
Hospital after their serious
accident.
The Ladies. of Tucker -smith,

shower for Joan Stoll $'....
Brucefield on Friday night.
Mrs. R. Walters was in charge.
A large crowd attended “The
Luncheon is Served" dinner at
Brucefield Church on Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs, Carl Kuhl have
sold their house in the village to
Mr. and Mrs. Rubt, Roberts of
Branford. Mr. Roberts is with
the Goderich detaEehrnen -the
O.P.P. The Kuhls will be
moving to a new home they are
having built in Caryndale on
the south edge of Kitchener.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Whittaker
spent the weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. George Burgoin • of
Leamington and helped them
move to Golden Farm Estate
which is near the Jack Miner
Bird Sanctuary at Kingsville.
Because there are several
Lagoons nearby and it is a
protected area. there were
flocks of wild geese landing
near the house. They didn't
seem to be very nervous of
people. and were almost in the
way when they were moving in.
A' special Rally Day service
was held in Varna Church on
Sunday, when the Sunday
School students were promoted
to their new classes. The
superintendents. Mrs. Eric
Chuter and Mrs. Tom Consitt
•presented Robert_ Raikes
diplomas and seals to•students
who had good attendance
