The meeting was reminded of
the debate to take, place in the
Exeter High School on Thur-
sday, Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. when all
candidates from the riding will
be in attendance; also of the
"Me,et Jim Hayter Night” to be
held Saturday evening, Sept. 13
starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Drill
Hall in Huron Park. This, will
take the form of a corn roast,•
barbecue and dance and there
-
will be no charge ler this event.
The meeting then took the
form of a question' and answer
period, followed by a social
hour at which time the. ladies
served coffee, tea and donuts.

Manitoba last week to join her
husband who has secured a
position as a welder in the
mines, Mrs. Talbot will also be
nursing at the hospital there.

visiting wiih Mrs. Metcalf for
the weekend.

ful cottage residents back for
the weekend'at their respective
summer homes: Dr. Bill and
Mrs. Tillman and family, and
Mr. Norm Brown all of London.
Villagers will be sorry to
"learn that,IVIr. Elmer Eastman
of Detroit, Mich. passed away
in Kississee. Florida on Sun-
day. Mr. Eastman was the
•husband of the late Roxy
Aldworth, formerly of this
area. and an uncle of Don
Warner of Bayfieldand
brother-in-law of Alf Warner of
the Village.

learned that the Rector. Rev.
George Yournatoff would be
absent from the parish for
three days, Sept, 24,25 and 26;
and were most grateful for a
cheque received from a former
Lieutenant Governor, Ray
Lawson to install: a rnemorial
plaque in the church in memory
of a former p_arish rector, the
late Rev. Frances Newton
Gibson (1891-1896). They
discussed the possibility of
sending a young person from
the church to the Diocesan
Youth Conference in October
and set Tuesday evening,
December 2 for the Annual
Parish Council meeting. The
