Auburn Vacation Bible
School seas held last week in the
Sunday School rooms of Knox
United Church. There war an
enthusiastic group of children
taking part in the lessons and,
crafts.
The program for the parents
and friends was on Friday
morning when they saw a film
"Living Waters".
The lesson leaders were Mrs.
Rolt Andrews, Mrs Allan
WOster, Mrs. Peter Verbeek
and Mrs. GordonGross,
Craft leaders were Tracey
Madam, Vickie Rodger, Linda
Cunningham, Sherry Verbeek,

FAMILY REUNION
The Plenkett reunion was
held recently at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Malian.
This Year several new mem-
bersattended from afar.
The couple coming the far-
thest was Mr. and Mr& Harold
Finnigan of Peterborough.
Races and games were en-
joyed by the children led by
Sandra Popp. A 'smorgasbord
supper was enjoyed by all.

Francis Powell gathered at the

Local obituary
Helen'. Lee
Helen Lenore Lee of 240
Maple Street in Clinton died in
Clinton Public Hospital on
August 29; 1975. She was 48
years old. -
Mrs. Lee was horn the former
Helen Lenore. Pearson on
January 6, .1927 in Goderich
Township. Her parents were
the late William and Lenore
Pearson.
On April 20,1946, she married
William Donald Lee in Clinton.
He survives her. She was a
member of Ontario Street
United Church in Clinton.
Besides her husband, Mrs,
LeeS survived by one daughter
Sharon Anne Erb of Hensel);
one grandchild William Robert
Erb; one brother William
Pearson of Chatham; and one
sister, Mrs. Sandy (Betty)
Loutitt of Yellowknife, N.W.T.
The funeral serviee was held
from the Ball Funeral Home on
September 1, 1975 with Rev.
John Oestreicher officiating.
Burial was in Clinton
Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Jack
Henderson, Murray Johnston,
Donald Bell, Mac MacLean,
Douglas Kennedy, and John
Miller.
The flowerbearers were
Jerry Fisher, Earl Tebbutt,
Rihard Fri,, and .# jrser

McConnell.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Steenstra,
Clinton, and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan R.
McCormeltof Goderich.
Reverend A. Beukema of
London officiated at the double
ring ceremony. Music was
provided by Mr. M.C. Guetter
who accompanied the soloist,
Mrs. Bernice Sweeting of
Midland.

School enrolment down slightly

Total enrolment in schools
under the jurisdiction of the
Huron County Beard of
Education on the first day of
school Tuesday was down 147
students from the correspon-
ding day in 1974.
At Tuesday's regular
meeting of the board, dires:thr

496 to 532 and Colborne Central.
The attendance rose there from
255 to 275.
Other schools showing a rise
in enrolment were Brookside.
Grey, Hullett, Turnberry and
Queen Elizabeth in Goderich.
Total enrolment in schools for
the trainable retarded Is 65. one
more than last year.
On the decrease side of the
ledger, Clinton public school
was down to 565 from 603 and.
Victoria in Goderich was down
