The three members of CUPE accepted wage increases of 17.9 per cent and more than 19 per cent over a one year contract. The three CAS employees were in a legal strike position on August .16 following a break- down in their negotiations which began in May. The new one year contract with a 17.9 per cent increase for the secretary stenographers amounts to 51,260 while the Matto oo405. w*. (News -Record photo) Township to build picnic pavillion Stanley Township Council recently approved the 5103,488 tender submitted by Roger MacEachern of Mount Forest to build the picnic pavillion on Highway 21. The highest tender received by Council for the project totalled 5127,000. Under their, old one year contract which expired June 30 the two secretary stenographers earned $7,000 and the clerk typist earned 55,400. Earlier this month the county had offered the -employees a 12 per cent increase of $1200 while they were seeking an increase of 25 per cent or $1800.
