Quite literally "cheers" for
CHSS. Six cheerleaders from
our high .school recently at-
tended a cheerleading clinic at
Carleton University in Ottawa,
Out of 33 squads attending, the
kcal team led by Nancy Kuehl,
first placed among the live
finalists, then went on to over
all, winners bringing home the
plaque and the honours that
went with it

There will be a familiar by-
line missing from aur paper
after this week. Many readers
will have become accustomed
to the name, Chris Zdeb, under
our write-ups and features. As
our summer journalism
' student, she has been with us
for four months - and in that
time she has become well-
known throughout town,
especially during Centennial
celebrations.
Chris has a bounceand en-
thusiasm which is hard to
match- and has ably demon-
strated her ability to cope with
any reporting assignment from
overcoming seasickness while
heaving up and down on the
O.P.P. boat, to giving us a
revealing look into the life of
Marshall Young.
She brings great gusto to her
work. Sometimes We max not
always agree with her outlook, -
to wit the vociferous tirades
resounding off the office walls.
But always after the clash and
clamor have died away there
have emerged yards of well
written copy.
It is said that one only gains
from life whatsoever one puts
into. it. By that same token -
Chris Zdeb, when leaving
Clinton, will gain a little of the
town spirit which she gave to us
while here. Good-bye and good
luck.
