McFadden's honored in poem
- The following verse was
written by Mary McFadden as
• ;A
a tribute to her parents who are
planning their retirement from
business:
Ya Abet Too Old
Ole Gerti, Mac and store
Tilia cross-eyed stork brang a girl
And an order ta fetch up two more.
The first a tom -girl, loved sports and nature
A fair second child, creator
The third a book worm of wisdom reserve
Gertiand Mac raised these three...and the store..
Tom growed up, yaunguns did too
Familysaclatime as a change
Learned a young whip ta handle the store
And blamed it all on old age.
Well yer colour 'a life ain't fadin'
So what if ya got hairs grayed?
A couple wrinkles a wisdom
Yer just twardsin' more happy days.
• toenkliktaheytrfn,
ya see we's slowed Ottr
Miss a "go -pill" in the morning4.
More damn wrinkles find our faCe".
Well this here's a little story
'Bout some folks I know real well
Ther names er Mac and Gerti
Settled in this town a spell.
Bought the weather beaten general
A foundation fer a family ta come
Theirselves they worked to richin
And so's folks could build titer homes.
