The School was opened
September 1. 1 961 . The pastor:. at
this time was Fidler (Red)
Gurnn. acting as advisor to the
School Board, assisted in
procuring the .sand for the
building. Peter Hathaway was
the first Board Chairman. The
contractor was Cale Doucette.
- This red brick school has
three classrooms. The staff l Hbe

The initial enrollment was
.around one hundred •and hasn't
varied much daring the years.
Every year has brought
about improvements. Two

kindergarten" The present staff;
Grades 7 and 8 taught by the
Principal, Adrian Pantsioen and
his, assistant Mrs. Aileen Craig.

Father Rem, -Lewis came in
1960 end worked very hard to
establish the present St. Joseph's
Separate School which was
opened September 1961 with an
attendance of nearly ane hundred
people. Unfortunately Father
ReedLewis was killed in a car
accident June 15, 1962.
Father • Gervais (London)
served for four months until the
appointment of Father McGuire
in September 1962.
Father Kelly came in 1965
and left in May 1972. Then came

Our business is 41 years 'old this year, to December 1934 Geo. Beattie joined Sutter &
Perdue to farm the business known as Sutter. Perdue and Beattie. Mr. Beattie operated the
furniture and undertaking portions of the business white Sutter & Perdue operated the
hardware. •
The present Iteration of the furniture business was purchased from the Fred Jackson
estate in February 1937 and Mr. Geo. Beattie started a furniture business an his own at that
time 'Mr. Beattie also operated an undertaking business during the same period but at that
time all funeral were either conducted in private homes or from the churches.
The residence purchased -from Wm. Elliott in January of 942 was renoVated and pecame
Clintons first . Funerallfo ne.

David Seattle purchased the furniture ibtisiness from his father. Geo. Beattie its May 1962
while George continued to operate the funeral home until December 1971 when Davao took
over the funeralhens*: ho weever« Geo. Beattie still assists in this portion at thte business.
