But in IS60 Clinton lost its brass
band and became dependent
w upon the Canadian Forces Band
for support for the various
parades. During this time the
Canadian Legion Pipe Band
came into being and helped to

Wat Webster has long career
Mr. Webster was boat near the -
Scottish town of Lucknow on a
farm just one mile West of the
town He started his band career
by first joining the Lucknow
Band and became drummer of
the tend in 1918.
He came to Varna with his wife
Ruby in i92a where they engaged
in fawning until 1970. then
retiring to Rattenbury Street
west in rC Trnt0.

"Bannochburn Pipe Band'',
named after his Varna farm. the
name being derived from the
home of his aancestors. in "Ban-
nochburn", Scotiend.
• The Band Joined in with the
Clinton Legion in 1958. and haatre
continued leading special Legion
parades till the present time.
Prior to that -the Pipe Band has
ted Legion parades since 1941.
Mr, Webster Jed the Lueknow
Centennial parade with his '29
piece band in June 1974. He has
been in 12th of July. parades for 69
years straight. This year 1975 will
mark his 75th appearance in July
12 parades as he made two ap-
pearances in some years. •
