anew location for 1975 - just
'northwest of Jiathurst Island in
Canada's Arctic at 77.1 degrees
N, . 101:8 degrees W.
Geophysicists from the Earth
Physics Branch. the Depart-
ment
epartment of Energy, Mines and
Resources, who check the
pole's position every five years
and locate it accurately on
geomagnetic charts, estimate
that it is now travelling through
Canada's Arctic at a rate of
about. 10 kilometres north and
1.2 kilometres east a year.
