The Berean Unit held their
meeting on .July 8 at 2 p.m. at
the manse. President, Gladys
Gourley led in devotions which

Fifteen W.I. members met at
7:30 p.m. at Bendix Home
Systems Ltd., Hensall, where
Mr. Rick Mellinger, publicity
manager, introduced himself
and proceeded to conduct a tour
and explain the progress of the
assembly of the trailer homes.

leading the 12th or July Orange Day
Parade.
The, 'old gray -mare she Oft what she
used to be but she managed to cartY 72
1yeapold Mr. Webster the entire length of
the parade route that Marked the. 285th
anniversary pi the Battle of the Boyne.
Set of people thought the horse wouldn't
last,, but Mr. Webster predicted the day
before theprocession that she viruld.
"She'll last; I'm not worrying any about
her, but 1 haven't ridden for 40 years," he
said.
Despite such a handicap, both horse and
rider finished and Mr. Webster realized a
lifetime &earn in leading the Parade.
Counting the ix years that he attended two
Parades Annually, last Saturday was the
75th time Mr. Webster has taken part in an
Orange Parade, without a miss, over the
. Unit 69 years.
But for such a privilege it was the first
time in -40 years that he couldn't play bass
drum and march with the Clinton pipe
band, however, he did manage to slip back
to the tail end of the parade and play his
drum on the Senior Citizens' Orange Men's
finat
Approximately 4.000 people watched the
parade, which represented 151 Orange
family, and Cheryl Radford for
the graduation banquet and the
W.I. awards. Jessie Tebbntt
Thanked all for their help atihe
graduation banquet.
It was moved to sell wooden
tables at $5 each; to pay 50
cents for Huronview Mem-
berships; and 40 cents per
member for the foster child.
The meeting closed with the
queen and the W.I. grace. A
delicious 'lunch -was served- by
Mary Robinson, Beth Knox and
TriDuizer.

However, the Orange Lodges are
growing smaller and Mr.- Webster said it
was because young people today had better

their attention than we did when we were

recruits in the past year.
