Celebrations were held in Kitchener on the weekend. Vanastra welcomes the new bride and groom, Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Boon to 47 Winnipeg. Best wishes! Community park , Vanastra is pleasantly planned with many homes fronting small, neighbourhood parks. Ideally, these parks give children a safe, close to home, play, area and adults can enjoy the children and park setting from their yards. A larger park for activities is located behind the community centre as well. In the past, volunteers have helped maintain the facilities and Tuckersmith Township has What's new at cut the grass. It has not been the best arrangement and, therefore, some further planning and community in- terest are necessary. All residents of Vanastra are invited to a meeting, Monday, May 26, at 8:30 p.m. at the Recreation Centre to discuss neighbourhood parks. A proposal asks that small committees for each park area be formed. These committees would receive funds from the Recreation Committee to provide interesting playgrounds, with maintenance and repair as needed. Perhaps flowers and landscaping could be included. Come Monday, May 26, with your ideas so Vanastra, through co- operation, can use this unique park system to the fullest. Progress is being made on the ball diamond behind the Community Centre. Until this facility is completed, the baseball diamond at Conestoga College will be used for the baseball activities. Huronview?
