Mr. Dunran MoEachen had a
narrow escape, recently, from a wild -
oat he shot at. At the time there
were three four or men with him,
and the oat foregoing its show of
fight ran into a hollow log, when one
of the men took the gun, and put
the muzzle into the log, as far as he
could reaob, and fired. Before he
could remove the gun from the log
the oat was out, and they all deeming
discretion the better part of valor
made for the nearest hotteet, which
they reached safe.
