30 members from Exeter and
40 surrounding area provided an
Easter Cantata "Haydns
Chorus" on Sunday evening.

accompanied at the piano by
their music teacher, Mrs. Glen
Johnston.
There were piano in-
strumentals by Sheila Burke
and Ian Mann; accordian
selections by Stephen Burke;
dance numbers by Laurie
Goodall and Karen Johnston.

old time favorites on the mouth
organ accompanied Marjorie

from the Walton area, thanked,
the entertainers on behalf of the
residents.
Plans have been made
to
change the FamilyNight
programs to Tuesday evening
each week beginning in May
with the Harboraires having
the first Tuesday program on
May6.

The annual meeting of
Goderich Township Women's
Institute was held at
Holmesville School on Monday
evening, April 14.
Roll call was answered by l8
members who paid their dues.
President Carol . Penhale
presided.
Secretary -treasurer Alice
Porter read the minutes of the
last meeting. She read the other
correspondence, including a
letter thanking the ladies for
participating in canvassing for
the Ontario Heart Foundation.
It was moved by Mary Anne
Yates and seconded by Millie
Dempsey to hold a bake sale at
The Homestead on Saturday,
May16.

pledge. Secretary, Janice
Miller read last week's minutes
and the roll call.
Mrs. Miller read to us how to
score a blouse and sleeve,
knowledge quiz and what is
your 4-1-1IQ? Slipstitching was
taught by Mrs. Miller and Mrs.
Betties talked of a reinforced
underarm seam.

Meredith Palmer Young, 49
Blake Street West, Goderich,
formerly of Auburn, died in
Clinton Public Hospital, April
13 after an illness of several
months. He was 64.
He was the son of William
Henry and Ida Elizabeth
(Wilson) Young and was born
at Saratoga near Dungannon.
He farmed at R.R. 3 Auburn for

He is survived by his wife, the
former Mary Evelyn Webster
whom he married June 1, 1935
at the Webster Homestead in

brook, Clarence Crawford and
Bill Proctor. Flowerbearers
were David Popp, Brian Treble
and Barry Treble.
Today, humanity is bowed down with trouble,
sorrow, and grief, no one escapes; the world
is wet with tears; but, thank God, the remedy
is at our doors.
