The Gossip Column BY ROBIN ADAMS SLOAN
Q: I read. that White House
photographer David Kennerly
was practically a member of
the family for a period when
Ford was Vice President.
What does Susan think of him?
—K.L., Walterboro, S.C.
A: Since we are in the gossip
business we'll pass along a
totally unsubstantiated rumor
that 17 -year-old Susan Ford
developed a real crush on
Kennerly and that it was one
of the reasons for her split
with her recent "steady,"
Gardner Britt. Kennerly is
now being seen with Candice
-- Bergen, which eitherthickens
the plot` or. gives lie to the
rumor. Take your choice.
Q: You keep reading about
all the British stars who now
make their home in the U.S. —
Julie Christie, Sarah Miles
and dozens of others but what
about my favorite, Miss
Poppins herself: Julie
Andrews? — M.D., Des
Moines, Iowa
A: Julie always hated
Hollywood and loathed people
prying into her private life.
When you add this to the fact
that most of the movies she
made after "Mary Poppins"
were less than sensational
then you may understand why
she insisted that she and her
husband, Blake Edwards, go
live in Switzerland.
LATEST REFUGEE FROM
HOLLYWOOD: Lee Marvin,
who used to keep things in-
teresting with his wild, wild
ways in the Malibu movie
colony, has moved with his
wife, Pam, to a 20 -acre ranch
in the clear desert air near
ear
Tucson, Ar-izona. the booze
practically ,eveir-upthe booze
and is now mostly
d
in deep-sea fishing (Australia)
and working an old gold mine
which is now beginning to pay
off since the new regulations
on the yellow stuff went into
effect.

Q: Will Dyan Cannon and
Cary Grant ever get back
together because of their
child? — O.P., Waco, Texas
A: Not likely after their
fierce misunderstandings.
Anyway, Dyan has a new
romance in movie director
Hal Ashby, who has, shot to
fame as a result of "Harold
and Maude" and most
recently, "Shampoo." Dyan is
so much in love with Hal she is
acting more and more human
every day, which is a relief to
everybody who deals with her
HOLLYWOOD'S
TALKING: About that big he-
man who has taken over that
big star's life. Anytime she
puts forth one of her famous
objections to anything in their
various entertainment
projects, he assures
associates not to worry. "I'11
go home and give her a little
loving and she'll do whatever I
say," he brags.
