Crocker in 'Kojak' ... do you
by any chance have any...in-
formation on him? — D.K.,
Ottawa, Ont.
At least once per episode Lt.
Theo Kojak bellows out
"Crocker, get in here!" Any
with Jerry Appleton
honest computer will bear it
out! Actor Kevin Dobson plays
one of New York City's
modern day lawmen - Det.
Bobby Crocker. Dobson was
offered a pro baseball con-
tract with the San Francisco
Giants while attending high
school. He decided to fulfill his
military obligation instead.
Following his military ser-
vice, Kevin took on various
jobs to help him through
college. His sister talked him
into auditioning for tv com-
mercials. In short order he
acquired a taste for the arts.
He became part of the road
company of Tom Ewell's 'The
Impossible Years' which,
toured North America in the
late 60's. Movie roles followed
- 'Love Story', 'Klute', 'The
French Connection' and
'Carnal Knowledge'. When not
involved in a production,
Kevin can usually be found
spending his free time as an
active participant or excited
spectator in one of his favorite
sports: football, hockey or
baseball. Kevin and his pretty
wife, Susan, live in Studio
City, California.

In 1967, ABC decided to take
on Johnny Carson's `Tonight'
show hold on the late night
ratin sj with the help of
comedian Joey Bishop. 'The
Joey Bishop Show's' resident
side -kick was Regis Philbin.
Philbin was born in New York
City, earned a sociology
degree from Notre Dame and
was a Navy vet before getting
a big break in showbusiness as
Steve Allen's replacement on
'Westinghouse'. The former
NBC pageboy -turned -
newscaster -turned writer was
selected as half of the new
Carson -McMahon team. The
late night talk show failed to
steal any viewers away from
Carson. These days •Regis
Philbin is part of a local Los
Angeles newscast team.
Can you .please tell us who
plays the role of Dr. Tony
Vincent in • 'Search for.
Tomorrow'? — G.H. & D.R.,
Ottawa, Ont.
The character of Dr. Tony
Vincent is portrayed by actor
Anthony George. Tony was
:born in Endicott, N.Y., on a
Jan. 29 — but will volunteerno
more data than that! After a
three year stint in the army,
Tony headed for fame and
fortune in Hollywood. That
was in 1946 and has, to some
extent, accomplished his
dream. He has appeared as
FBI agent Allison in 'The
Untouchables' and co-starred
with Sebastian Cabot and
Doug McClure in the private -
eye yarn 'Checkmate'. Single
and a resident of New York
City, Tony spends most of his
leisure time enjoying his
favorite sport - swimming.
HERE AND THERE...
+Two mid-season
replacement series have
already been given the
proverbial, but nonetheless
sharp, axe. NBC has dropped
Brian Keith's 'Archer' series
after a mere two airings. A 44
total of seven episodes have
been filmed and the network
has decided to air them
despite the early cancellation
announcement. Over at CBS
the show to be axed is 'Khan'
starring Khigh Dhiegh, the
resident villain, Wo Fat, on
'Hawaii Five -O'.
