REV. W. JENE MILLER
Oh, Oh My! How confusing
life gets at times.
For the past several years we
have been beseiged by parents
trying to get their children. off
the school bussing. Now,,up in
Bartlesville there is a group of
parents who are trying to get
their children on the school
busses! It seems there is a law
in our state which says that
anyone who lives less than one
and a half miles from school
cannot ride the school busses.
Just a few years ago. the
supreme court said children
could not be discriminated
against on the basis of race or
geographical area. That is, if
the lousy schools were all put
on one side of town, then the
kids from that side should be
given rides at school expense
to schools on the other side!

Mrs. K.W. (Jean) Colquhoun
of 49 Huron Street in Clinton
passed away at her residence
on March 10,1975•. She was 49.
Well-known in town, Mrs.

run a real estate and insurance
business in town for many
years. He survives her.
Mrs. Colquhoun was born in.
Clinton, the former Jean
McDougall, on Feb. 11, 1926 a
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce
McDougall, who live: in
Stratford.
She attended school in
Clinton and lived in Clinton
most of her life. In April of 1943,
she married K.W. (Da:nriy)
Colquhoun in Clinton.
Transporting youth to schools
is not new, but banning
someone from public facilities
because of where_ they live is!
Now, it looks like the
legislature is going to have to
reconsider its decision and
remove yet another kind of
discrimination from society.
'That is how life always is!
Man builds systems to meet
his needs, and then the system
runs into something - which
causes it to do the very thing it
seeks to prevent being done.
Police are given guns to stop
criminals, and sometimes fall
victim to temptation and
become thieves and killers.
Soldiers can fight for
freedom or can defend
tyrannies.
Christians can be so loyal to
their Faith in the God of love
that they seek to destroy others
who dd not think like them.
