The UCW held their March
meeting in the basement of the
Church on Thursday evening
with 18 members present.
Mrs. Bill Taylor opened the
meeting with a poem "The
Wagon Wheel" followed by a
hymn. Group 2 was in charge of
the devotions and Mrs. Harvey.
Hayter read the scripture
followed by a prayer by Mrs.
George Wilson. Mrs. Wilson
gave readings on the "Origin of
Easter". Offering was taken up
by Mrs. Grant Webster and
dedicated by Mrs. Alexander
Taylor.
The minutes of the last
meeting were read and the
treasurer's report was given.
Thank -you notes were read.
Varna UCW were extended an
invitation from Kippen UCW
for April 8 at 8 p.m. It was,
decided to continue ordering
the Upper Rooms. There will be
collection made for the
Cancer Society and five dozen
centennial spoons have been
ordered.

It was decided to hpld a
crokinole party at the' Varna
Township Hall on Friday night,
March 21. Forty-one -calls were
made to the sick and shut-in
The Explorers group have
foided due to the lack of
members. Therefore, the UCW
have assumed the respon-
sibility for contributing to the
adopted child which the girls
have been doing. Twenty
dollars have been donated to
the Clinton Hospital.
