while Tony Van Dongen had the
high triple of 721, and Gary
Freeman had the high average
of 204.
In the Friday YBC League,
the Streakers are way out in
front with 247, and are followed
by the Pin Killers with 2271/2,
the Corner Pins with 222, the
Pin Bombers with 216, the
Strike Outs, with 209, the Alley
Jets with 1971/2, the 450s with
179, and the Pin Crackers with
178.
The Centennial Maple Leafs
and the Alley Wreckers are
tied, with 234 points each, for
the lead in the YBC Saturday
League. They are followed
closely by the Strikes and
Spares with 2331/2, the Hookers
with 221, the Head Pin Hitters
with 210, and the Super Strikers
with 1911/2, the Alley Bums with
180, and the King Crowns with
175.

the 32 spots from the Bluewater
Zone, but met some stiff op-

one who did very well, finishing
fourth in the province in the
Senior Girls' Singles.

league with 115 points. They
were followed by the United
Nations with 113, the Try Hards
and the Roadrunners with 103
each, the Ding-A-Lings with 99,
and the Hopefuls with 97.
Donna Gibbings had the high
single of 293, while Erma
Hartley had both the high triple
of 682, and the high average of
209.
The Rolling Pins are running
away with the lead in the
Londesboro Ladies' League
with 125 points, and are
followed by the Pin Chasers
with 89, the Slow Starters with
70, and the Try Hards with 66.
Audrey Thompson had the high
Vitigle of 273, H0'61 Wallace had
the high triple of 647, and
Florence Cartwright was the
most improved bowler with a
plus 15.
In . the Clinton -Blyth Ladies
' League, the Daffy Dolls are out
in front with 59 points, but are
followed closely by the Crown
Jewels, Della's Slaves and the

The Strike Outs are the top
dogs in the Crown YBC League
with 3401/2 points, and are
followed by Chilly on a Bun
with 336, the North East Kids
with 3291/2; Titter Twisters with

2931/2, Symon's Symples with
2901/2 and the South West Kids
with 286. Pat Cook had the girls'
high single of 259, while Wendy
Gibbings had the high triple of
617, and Deb Johnston had the
high average of 199. Paul
Gibbings had the boys' high
single of 309, while Darrell
Daniel had the high triple of
663, and Alex Harrett had the
high average of 215.
In the Wil-Dex League, the
Chipbreakers hold the lead with
91 points, but are followed
closely by the Ferrotics with 90,
the Precisions with 87, and the
Diamonds with 82. Laurie Daw
swept all the women's honors
with the high single of 266, the
high triple of 676, and the high
average. of 196. Vic Hoggarth.

The Clinton Midgets won the

Wingham Midget Tournament
on the weekend by virtue of a 7-
4 win over Mount Forest in the

played this Thursday night at 7
p.m.
Clinton had beat
Southhampton two games
straight to gain the finals.
Clinton won the first game of
the series on March 11 by virtue
of a 5-3 win. Goalscorers for
Clinton were Robert Heard,
Frank Studney, Mike Gibbings
with two and' Rick Taylor.
Assists were picked up by Bill
Roy, Rick Taylor, Peter
Thompson and Peter Robinson.
Donnie 'Patterson played an
excellent game in the Clinton
net.
Clinton took the second game
and the series in Clinton on
March 13, easily handling
Southhampton 6-1. Goals were
scored by Frank Flynn, Rick
Taylor, Robert Heard with two,
and Bill Roy. Assists were
given to, Len Mills, Frank

Robert Harkes played ex-
cellently in the Clinton net.
On March 15 Clinton Midgets
travelled to Wingham to play
against Wingham in the Midget
Tournament.

Wingham defeated Clinton 4-2.

Counter and Allan Taylor
scored an unassisted goal.
On March 16 Clinton played

was 7-1 for Clinton. Goals were
scored by Allan Taylor - 2, Mike
Gibbings - 2, Robert Heard,
Dave Counter and Rick Taylor.

On March 17 Clinton played

The Huron Federation of
Agriculture will hold a special
meeting for beef producers in
the Londesboro Hall on Wed-
nesday, March 26.
Doug Fortune of Wingham,
the president, said that beef- -
men have been asking the
Federation to do something
about the low prices they
receive for their product.
At this, meeting, the beefmen
will be, asked what they want
the organization to do. If the
cattlemen can agree on some
action that should be taken, the

Armbro Napier, owned by

Derby's Gent, who holds the
track record both at Clinton
and Goderich, easily won the
$21,000 final of the Willowdale
Pacing Series at Greenwood in
Toronto last Saturday. The win
gave him earnings of slightly
over $20,000 for three starts so
far this year, compared to
$27,330 made last year in 23
starts.
Derby's Gent has only lost
one race out' of 25 lifetime
starts, and has never been
beaten in Canada in 24 races.
It's likely area race fans will
get a chance to see this out-
standing pacer in the $50,000
Provincial Cup •at Windsor on
March 30.
"Happy Birthday Clinton" was the theme used by the Clinton Figure Skating Club at their
concert last Sunday. One of the skits involving the younger skaters was called "Follow the

All Clinton and area boys who
are interested in playing soccer
this year are reminded to fill in
the application form in this
paper and come to the Clinton
Arena this Saturday, March 22
between 10 a.m. and noon.
The soccer season gets under
way next month and organizers
must know now which boys
want to play in the league
which features teams from
Clinton, Goderich, Exeter,
Seaforth, Grand Bend, and
