Girls play Dublin tonight
The Clinton Milt . and Mabel
Raiders girls' 'hckey team
easily \put out Seaforth in the
first round of the cham-
pionships and now face Dublin
Thursday night in the second
game of their series.
Clinton lost the first game
against Dublin last Sunday
night by a 2-1 score, but during
regular season play, they had
little trouble with Dublin,
beating them twice.
In, the first play-off round,
Clinton took the best of three
series two games straight, by 3-
0 and 2-0 scores, showing
Seaforth no mercy.

Last Saturday, the Toronto
Dominion Bank held their
annual spiel at our club with
rinks coming from Wyoming,
Delhi, Kitchener, Burford,
Sarnia, 'Alliston, ' Woodstock,
London, Wingham, Mitchell,
Elora, Stratford and Seaforth.
In the 9 a.m. draw, Bruce

of the day winning the trophy.

popular spiels of our club being
booked up a year in advance.

Soccer club well on way
If Sunday's meeting of the
Clinton Soccer Club is anything
to go by, then the team is off to
a good start, at least as far as
enthusiasm and participation
are concerned. Approximately
20 persons attended, including
most of last year's • team and
,several welcome additions.

health, the present plumbing inspection

In the first six months of operation, costs
were about $18,000 while revenue was
about $5,000.
The chairman of the board of health
commented that in the board's opinion, the
county municipalities should not be ex-
pected- to subsidize home builders. The
Ministry of the Environment insists on
inspections and the costs should be added
to the mortgage which is spread over a
considerable period of time and is no great
added burden to the owner.

Plumbing inspections are riot required
for farm buildings like barns and stables,

The total budget for the Plumbing and
Environment Division of council is
estimated at $44,500 with the county's
share being $29,500.

the attention of the provincial authorities
insurance claims totalling about $3,500 in
connection with .vandalism to county

Adequate policing during court sessions
has been requested by the property
committee. Chairman Stan Profit

waiting to be heard in court as "absolutely
awful."

home of Mrs. Dalgliesh on
March 4th. The roll was called
and then the secretary, Brenda
Bell, read the minutes which
were seconded by Jan Divok.
The business was about a
float which is to be in the
Centennial parade. Discussion
followed on the summary
matter and on the questions for
meeting one.
For a demonstration the
leaders handed out pieces of
material and patterns.
Members had to pick which
material suited each pattern
and state their reasons.

swim courses for the spring

The -Recreational Swim
outlines all the various
programs being offered at the
recreational complex. A quick
scan through this booklet
revealed the following : . For
young swimmers not yet ready
for the Beginner classification
there are five levels - Bubblers,
Gliders, Motor Boats, Puddle
Wheelers, Sharks, Successful
passing of these levels allow the
swimmer to enter the Red
Cross program of Beginners,
Juniors, Pre -Intermediate
Intermediate, Pre -Senior,
Senior, and Survival Swim-

Tickets are available for the
Spring Dance on May 3rd at the
Legion at $8 a couple from any
Soccer Club member. Music is
