What was -the name of Tony
Curtis' second television
series - the one which played a
few years ago?
M.T., Brandon, Man.
..Movie actor Tony Curtis has
been part of one television
series in his thirty years in
showbusiness and it turned
out to be less of the success it
was .earmarked, to be, 'The
Persuaders' (an ABC -British
production. The hourlong
tongue-in-cheek adventure
series boasted not one but two
big names - film star Tony
Curtis and television's own
Roger Moore. Unlike Moore,
who in fact is a direct product
of television through such
series as 'The ,Saint' and
`Ivanhoe', Curtis had to this
date shied away from the
small tube fearful of suffering
from over exposure. Sir. Lew
Grade, head of British's
Associated Television Cor-
poration and the moving force
behind 'The Saint',, talked
Curtis into the role of Danny -
mind you the reported
$1,000,000 for 24 episodes
surely weakened Curtis.
.Curtis, born Bernard Sch-
wartz in New York City, June
3; 1925, has over fifty movie
titles to his credit including
'Some ' Like It Hot', 'Spar-
tacus', 'The Defiant Ones' and
'The Great Imposter'.
Can you please tell me how I
should go about contacting my
favorite actor - Ted Lange of
'That's My Mamma'?
ABC's 'That's My Mamma'
(also seen on the CTV Net-
work) is the brainchild of ex-
CBC'ers Chris Beard and
Allan Blye (also responsible
for the highly rated 'Sonny &
Cher Comedy Hour'). The
series stars Clifton Davis,
Theresa Merritt, Theodore
Wilson and Ted Lange as
Junior. Write: 'That's My
Mamma:.', ABC-TV, 4151

up a marriage, a little about
actor Robert Cummings.
Cummings was born in Joplin,
Missouri, the granson of the
father of aviation himself,
Orville Wright. The handsome
actor was educated at Drury
College and Carnegie Tech
before the world of acting
caught his fancy. He has
appeared in some 30 -odd
Hollywood films - ranging
from the famous 'Dial M for
Murder' to 'Gidget Grown
Up'. Bob Cummings has
definitely made his mark in
television with numerous
series (`My Hero' - 1952; 'The
Bob Cummings Show' --1955;
'My Living Doll' - 1964).
Television occasionally saw
Cummings the serious
dramatic actor in the early
days - notably his Emmy-
awatd performance as a
member of the deliberating '
jury - in --Reginald Rose's
'Twelve Angry Men' in 1954.
Now to answer The question at
hand and run the risk of en-
ding a happy marriage: 'Bob
Cummings was born on June
9, 1910, making his upcoming
birthday number 65'. •
