I watch the tv show
'Kareea's Yoga' every day
and. learn_ a lot ... can you
please tell me about Kareen
herself? -
Mrs. T.W., 'Kingston, Ont.
The CTV network launched
a daily exercise series based
on the ancient art of Yoga
some years ago resulting in a
very large and dedicated
following. Thousands of
viewers are tuning in every
day thanks mainly to the
quiet, dignified approach of
hostess Kareen Zebroff.
Kareen immigrated from her
native Germany as a
teenager and met her
husband while studying
languages at the University
of British Columbia. An in-
terest in Yoga led Kareen to
offering classes in her home
town and then to a local
television show of her own.
The pretty hostess has also
written a number of books on
her favorite subject: "The
A.B.C. of Yoga" and
"Advancing ,with Yoga and
Nutrition". She and her
husband, Peter, are presently
completing a book on Yoga
for children.
The guy who's in the 'Night
Stalker' TV show has been on
before, hasn't he?
G.S., Brandon, Man.
During the 73-74 season,
ABC aired several made -for -
television movies with the
same, weird unexplainable
monsters theme, starring
Darren McGavin. The
features turned out to be,
among the highest - rated
movies of the season. A
handful of television
executives somewhere in
Hollywood decided to capture
that McGavin magic in a
weekly series. Ergo, ABC's
`Kolchak: The Night Stalker'
was born! A most popular
actor among `--. tv=nmvie
producers, Darren McGavin
starred in an earlier series in
the late 50's. In 1959,
'Riverboat', an action series
about life on the Mississippi
during the 1840's, premiered
with McGavin as captain of
the good ship the Enterprise.
Also featured in 'Riverboat'
was a young unknown actor
named Burt Reynolds.
McGavin's first series
managed to remain afloat for
several seasons.

the western heroes of the
day, 'Kemo Sabay' was a do-

shooting to kill. A mere 130
episodes were ever filmed -
but the half-hour show lived
on until the early sixties
through the miracle of
television re -runs.
