What Be Should Do.
If every farmer advertised every Strange
animal that came into his premises, and
every farmer read the notices of the same,
there would not be a. Missing horse, cow,
sheep, or pig in the comity. Don't give the
animal a first.class boarding house fare for
months till the cost exceeds their worth, hut
advertise them immediately after they ar-
rive. If animals are kept several weeks be-
fore any notice of them is given, the owner is
xtot bound to pay the costs for ail that time.
Write out your advertisement, enclose with
it a (biter, send st to this offiee., and it will
appear in the Tarns the necessary three
times.

The farmers's best friend is the live
local newspaper, and scores of them
would be many a dollar in pocket to-
day, if they had only spent a dollar a
year in a subscript'on to their looal
newspaper. These journals are ai-
ways on the alert for anything of spe-
cial concern to the fitrrner, and are
unriring their efforts to expose
fraudulent transactions in which the
people of the district may be made
the victims. If every man.would take
a good local paper regularly the
swiudling business could not exiet
twenty-four hours.
