Deb Johnston swept all the women's , honors with the high single of 257, the high triple of 665 and the high average of 200. Steve Gib- bings had the men's high single of 318, Bob Riehl had the high triple of 748, and Alex Harrett had the high average of 220. Phyllis Edwards had the with their 10th win of the campaign. Playing before another disappointing crowd in Clinton Sunday afternoon the Colts were whitewashed 9-0 by the strong Fergus Flyers. Fergus leads, the Northern Group by four points over Harriston and displayed Sunday afternoon why they consider themselves as a strong contender to upend the Port Elgin Sunocos for the Ontario•laurels. Fergus led 3-0 after the first period and increased it to 6-0 before the buzzer sounded to end the second session. In the third period the Flyers scored three more unanswered goals. In the first game our lads were beaten by Brussels 7-0 who went on to win the "A" championship. In the second game, Clinton came to life and defeated the host team Seaforth by a score of 4-3. A very good record for :oekey'weekend fit Officials of the Clinton Minor Hockey Association report that the Minor Hockey Weekend just held was a success with many exciting hockey games played. Clinton, New York -made their annual trip to town to battle the local boys. The Pee -Wee two game series was won by Clinton, New York. Jeff Colclough of Clinton, Ontario took home the first star trophy donated by McAdam Hardware, Nike Young was the winner of the �„Fairholme Dairy Trophy for being the second star, and Robbie Blake of Clinton, Ont., was the recipient of the third star trophy, donated by the Clinton Hotel. The trophies were awarded for the Saturday game only. Clinton, Ontario won the Bantam series against their "B" rivals from New York. Larry Dalton of Ontario was named the first star and took home the K Decorating Trophy, Mike Fanning of New York was the recipient of the Herman's Men's Wear their first year. Hensall Nip "B" During Minor hockey weekend, the Clintoin Atom "B."s played host to Hensall "A's" and lost a close one 4- 3; Scoring for Clinton was Randy Marriage with two goals and Wayne Roorda with one. The Atom "B's" travel to Hensall this week for Minor hockey weekend down there. Manager Tom Fox and coaches Dave Bartliff and Dan Campbell hope for a reverse score than they had in their opener. Atoms defeat Exeter "B's" During Exeter Minor hockey weekend, the Wil- Dex Atoms travelled to Exeter to play the Exeter Bronco "B's" and came out with a narrow 2-1 victory. Scoring for Clinton was Jeff Taylor and the winning goal by Sean Van Dongen. Trophy for being picked -the second star, and Wayne Tideswell of Ontario received the Ball -Macaulay Trophy for being the third star. Paul Radigan of New York took home the Huron Pines Trophy for being judged the best goaltender in thct two gaine series. In that Pee Wee series, Clinton, N.Y. won the first game 9-4 but lost the second game to Clinton Ont. by a 5-3 score, while in the Bantam games, Clinton, Ont. won both games, 7-4, and 10-3. In other weekend action, Goderich Houseleague beat the Clinton Ont. Pee Wee "B" team by a 17-3 score, the Clinton Midget team dumped the London Stoneybrook "B" team by a 7-2 score, and the Seaforth Houseleague team beat the Clinton Bantam "B" team 8- •1. On Sunday morning, the South London Pee Wees dumped Clinton New York 10-0, while the South London . Bantams shut -out Clinton, N.Y. 11-0.
