The character mentioned — Majors '— was playedby Canadian actor John *Vernon. In 1966, the CBC drama department featured John Vernon in a number of hourlong episodes bbilt around a character named Dr. Steve Wojeck, chief coroner of a large Canadian city. The series proved to be one of the most popular mini-series ever aired on the public network. During the 50's John Vernon played various roles in early Canadian series such as 'Cannonball', 'RCMP', 'The Last of the Mohicans' and 'Tugboat Annie'. For the past number of years he has made southern California home. But then again Valerie Harper and her `Rhoda'' series took on and defeated the giant of giants in ABC's 'Monday Night Football'.
