Last Friday evening, the
Clinton Centennial Mustangs
travelled to Ingersoll for
,inter; -divisional game in the
Junior "C" loop, The game,
'which was late in staring,
was ' disastrous for the
Mustangs as they were
outplayed for the majority of
the match.
The Ingersoll club started
fast, scoring at :13 seconds
of the first period and then
out -checked the Clinton
team consistantly, for the
remainder of that frame.
In the second, the
Mustangs began to settle
down and kept the game
close on a goal by John
Momrnersteeg, a native of
Exeter, playing his first
season in Clinton.
Penalties began to take
their toll near the end of the

second and continuing into
the final period, when the
Mjtstangs played short-
handed for seven con-
secutive minutes. Clinton
tried to come back with two
mid -period goals, but again
penalties prevented them
from mounting a very ef-
fective rally.
Brian Lane • •and. John
Graham scored the late -
goals for the Mustangs..in the
game that saw, Clinton take
17 of the 27 penalties called.
Even with this loss,
Clinton remains tied for
third place in their division
and enly five points out. of
first. In addition the
Mustangs lead their division
in fewest goals against per
game. Several Clinton
players were out 'of the
Ingersoll game with injuries,
but we must laud, the play of

who led the team In checking
and points.
The Mustangs ;travel to

Thursday respectively,
before .. returning te the

beating Goderich goalie, Rob
Kellestine.

Walterbeck and Ron
Coriveau scored for
Goderich while Rick Fremlin
and Scott Parks replied for
the Colts.
