On Friday, Dec. 27, a
relatively good crowd at the
Clinton Arena saw the Listowel
team defeht the 'home town
Mustangs . in a hard fought,
"close checking game.,
The visitors came out skating,
and quickly developed their
game plan, which was... to fore -
.check the Clinton team, trying
'.to keep them off balance. The
Mustangs countered with their
quick skating and passing,
which kept thegame game fast and
exciting.
Listowel opened the' scoring
'at .1:10 of the first period on a
goal by Phil Blake. The two
teams traded end to end,rushes
for the remainder of that
period, giving the home town

Listowel contingent, many ex-
citing mornents.
During the first ten minutes
of the second stanza, the
Mustangs completely
dominated the -play, but a
couple of goalposts and ex-
cellent play by Listowel goalie,
Larry Ament, left Clinton em-
pty handed.
Listowel stuck to their game
plan in the third period, dum-
ping the puck into the Clinton
zone and fore -checking. At 'the
final buzzer the score was 5-2
