Sun, -011 the first day of Jude, 1ti81, I lay at myresidenee in this pity aurrounded by my friends and waiting for death. Heaven only knows the atony I ,then endured, for words oauuot deselbe it. And yet, if A few Years previous any ono had told me that'I was to be brought so low, and by so terrible a disease, I should have scoffed at the ido,e. I lead always been uncommonly strong and heal. by, and weighed over 200 pounds, and hardly knew, in my own oxperleuce, what pain or sickness were. Very many people who will read this statement realize at tiles they are unusually tired and oauuot account for it. They feel dull pains in various parts of the body and de not understand why. Or they are exec.dingly hungry one day and en- tirely witbo' t apeetito the next. This was just the wa alt when the relentless malady bed itself upon me fir be. whiotl hade ) first -"r" 1 qau. Still I thought nothing of it ; that pro- bably I hacl taken a cold which would soou pass away. Suortly after this Inoti cod a heavy, and at tunes neuxalgio, pain in ono side of my head, but as it would Dome one day and be gone the next, I paid little atten- tion to it. Then my etolnaoll would getout of order and my food often tailed to digest, o causing at times great lee n9e1lienc e. Yet, even as a physician, 1 did not think that these things meant anything serious. I fancied I was suffering from malaria and doctored myself accordingly. But I got no better. I next noticed a peetsliar color and odor about the fluids I was passing -also that there wer, 1a: tze quantities one day and very little the next, and that a persistent froth and scum appeared upon .the surface, and a sediment settled. And yet I did not realize my dange*,for, indeed, seeing these symptoms continually, I dually became ac - customer' to them, and my suspicion was wholly disarmedby the fact that I had no pain iu the affectd organs or iu the,r vioiui- ty. Why I should have beeu so blind I oan- notunderstaud. 1 consulted the best medical skill in the laud, I visited all the famed mineral springs in America and traveled from Maine to California. Still I grew worse. ` No two physicians agreed as to my malady. One said I was troubled with spine irritation, an- other, dyspepsia -,'another, heart disease; an other, general debility ; another, congestion of the bade of the braiu ; and so on through a long list of oammon diseases, the symptoms of many of which I really -had. In this way several years passed, during which time 1 was steadily growing worse, My floodlit= had really become pitiable. Tho slight sym• toms I at first experienced were developed into terrible and constant disorders. My weight had been reduced from 207 to 130 pounds. My lifewas a -burden to myself and and friends. I could retain no food on my stomach, and lived wholly by injections. I was a living mass of pain. My pulse was un- eontrollahle. In my agony I frequently fell to the floor and clutched the carpet, and. prayed for (leap 1 Morphine had little or no effect in deadeeskehe pain. Foe six days and nights I hall Elie death -premonitory Ric• coughs constantly 1 My water was filled with tube -casts and albumen. I was strug- gling with Bright's Disease of the.kindeys in its lest stages 1 While suffering thus I received a call from my pastor, the Rev. Dr. Foote, at that time rector of St. Paula Episcop 1 church, of this city. I felt that it was it last interview, bat in the course of conversation Dr. Foote detailed to me the many remarkable cares of cases like my own which had come under his observation- a `D' practising physician and a graduate of the hoofs, I derided the idea of any medicine a ide the regular channels being in the least beneficial So solicitious, however, was D,r. Foote, that I finally pro- mised I would waive my prejudice. I began its use on the first day of, June, 1881, and took it according to directions. At first it siokened me; but this 1. thought was a good sign for one in my debilitated condition. I continued to take it ; the sickening sensation departed and I was finally' able to retain food upon my stomach. In a few days I no- ticed a decided change for the better, as also did my wife and friends. My hiccoughs ceased and 1 exporienoed less: pain the? for- merly. I was so rejoiced at this improved condition that, upon what I had believed but a few days before was my dying bed, 1 vowed in the presence of my family and friends, should I recover I would both publicly and privately make known this remedy for the good of humanity, wherever and whenever I had an opportunity, and this letter is in ful- fillment of that My improvement was constant from that time, and in less than three months I had gained 26 pounds in flesh, became entirely free from pain and I beliaoe I owe my life end present condition wholly to Warner's vale cure, the remedy which I used. Since my recovery I have thoroughly re- investigated the subject of kidney difficulties and Bright's disease, and the truths develop. ed are astounding. I therefore state, -deliber- ately, and as a pbysisian, that I believe An unparalleled sensation is being created over Ontario by thewonderful and unequalled manner in which Neuralgia, Toothache, Rheumatism, Backache, Headache, is remov- ed by one application of Fluid Lightning.
