Mrs. Sarah. Errington, 4th concession
of Wes \Wawanosh, has xeceived word
of the death of her brother-in-law, Mr.
Harry Fenton, of Penrith, Cumberland
County, England, who passed away
on -November nth.
The Dungannon Public Isiblstry con-
cert was postponed last -i riday night
owing to blocked roads and storwny
weather and set for one • week- later.
The Dungannon school bus 'was ,un-
able to make the daily route to Gode-
rich last Friday, and on Monday the
roads were so heavy that it took until
nearly neon to get there,. and tau and
a -half hours to come home. They were,
a pretty tired bunch of young folksl on
arrival home. The sudden bit of
winter after the lovely fall ..weather
was hard to ,take. '" ,
Mrs. Gordon Coourbes land little
children, Barrie and Pamela, are visit-
ing for two weeks with friends fit.

Mrs. Millner Dawson, president of
the Dunganrtlln Women's• Instituto,
entertained members' and their hus-
bands at her home -last Thursday even-
ing., The eevnt was much enjoyed: .
:lir. Godfrey Hall, who was under the
doctor's care with pneumonia, 'is re-
covering nicely and' is able to be about
the house. He hopes to improve for
his ninetieth birthday on December 9th.
Indoor softball has been enjoyed at
the Lucknow arena recent weeks
by several teams ,and spectators. The
Dungannon boys won the series and
will soon' have on display the coveted
"silver cup." This sport has been a

from an 'appendix operation and is
booted to practiee-teach in the junior

and Miss Gwen Ii innigan is scheduled
to teach in the senior. room.
° Mrs. Margaret Switzer of Kinloss
is „visiting her, cousin,, Mrs, Henry
Horton.
We extend 'our sympathy to the fam-
ily of the late Jobst Aetrke, who was
laid to rest -on Tuesday afternoon in
Dungannon cemetery. Mr. and Mrs.
Petrie were residents of the 4th con-
cession of Ashfield until their retire-
ment , to Goderich -seven sy.ears, ago.
Mrs. • Nelson' Pearson (nee Gloria
Cengraiu) arrived home a few days
ago from Clinton hospital ,with. _ her,
little infant son 'and is visiting for a
while with her parents, Mr. , an,d Mrs.

Mrs. Mary Ann Glazier, who spent
the summer months with her slaughter,
Mrs. Harvey Maize, has returned to
Guelph to spend the winter with her

section 17, West Wawanosh, on Wed-
nesday evening, December 3rd, when
a large eun)ber gathered to, enjo3'4, the
evening. At euchre, Mrs. Frank Pent-
land won high prize, while Mrs. Thos.
Dickson won" the consolation prize ;
Eldon Culbert and Nelson Ctilbert won
the • men's prizes. At ,, crokinole the
winners were Miss L tr se Sproul and
`Liss Doris Caldwell, Cil Stewart and

After some discussion, it ,was de-

musical assistance could be procured.
A motion was passed voting $10()-16 the
memorial chimes fund. A nominating
committee composed of \Iesdanres John-
