as a visitor with his relatives on his

Golden Wedding Celebration. — Mr.
and Mrs. John .eotcilmer, sr., cele-
brated -their golden wedding annivers-
ary at their farm house on November
24th. Dinner was -served to fourteen
guests. Gifts, flowers and telegrams
•were showered on the bride and groom
of tifty years. They were married
'November 23, 1897, at Varna, and
started farming on the Blue Water
liis*away ow -quarter mile south of
'lis v1ield. Two years latter they moved
to Fargo. North Dakota, returning
after live years to settle on the farm
on the Bronson line, Stanley township,
where they—lived for the past forty-
three years. JI1". and Mrs. Scotchmer
have live sons and one. daughter, who
were all present at the dinner: Mrs.
Robert Greer, Baytietci.; Clifford, of
Chicago; Roy, -Charles, John and
Gordon, all of S aliley township. There
! are eleven gr tndchildren and two
great-grandchil ren. -,
Death of Robert Seotchnner. .The..
death (s curred at his horse in . Bay-
field on Friday, November 2lst, after
a 'short illness, of Robert David Scotch -
mer. in his, seventy-sixth year. Mr.
Scotchmer was the eldest sot] of the
late Alfred and Jane Watson Scotch -
mer. and was burn ill •.Bayfield. When
a young man lie went to North Dakota,
where he was married in 1896 to Jane
Sherritt, • _Aster residing in North
Dakotas for tell_ years he brought his
family lack to Ontario, and they re-
sided tan the Branson line, Stanley
Itownship. Mrs, Scutchm.er died in

Margaret Campbell and moved to Bay-
field. where he had since resided. IIe
was treasurer of St. Andrew's United
church for a great many years aftd Was

vicinity were shocked when the -news
Gagne of the sudden passing of Telford
Nixon, and also the death Of -Mr. Wil-;
liam Wilson of Goderieh, husband of the
furrier I;''faine Allan, former teacher of
Nile. The deepest sympathy is ex-
tended to these two families in their
sudden bereavement.`

the problem it is causing the Ontario
farmers. Co-operative health insur-
ance also was discussed. Lunch was

next forum will be held on Thursday
evening of next week, December 4th, in
the school -house, after 'the interesting
and educational pictures of the Na-

opened the meeting with a• hymn, fol-
lowed by prayer. by Mrs. Lednort and
the Scripture lesson was read by Mrs.
Gilmour. The last chapter of the
study book was taken by Mrs. Lednor.
