trip here at the week -end. The lovely
woods, presenting every hue these line
fall days, are said by many to be just
ail little mor ' beautiful than usual. So
with fruit in the garden, the foliage so
lovely, and these nice warms days, we

d y night for the meeting of the Wo -
en's Association of the United church.

members. Mrs. Geo. Hodges, the
president, conducted the meeting. It
was decided to have a Thanksgiving
supper on Monday night, following the
anniversary services on Sunday,
Mrs. Everett Errington read a paper
on Thanksgiving. After 'toile ,closing
hymn and prayer, Mrs. Bere served
lunch.

Dr. R. L. Stewart of Winghana inOt
with a zretrettabryle accident a few days
ago, when ,he fell at hishome and
fractured his hip. Re had a similar
accident to the other hip about a
year ago.
Philip Anent,- well-known.- resident
of Brussels, died on Thursday last at
the age of eighty-eight years. He
operated a saW and planing mill for
many years. Three sons and :Your
daughters survive.
Sheldon Bricker, who removed from
Fordwicli to Kitchener last year, has
sold his garage property and equip-
ment and also a business block at Ford-
wieh to J. It. Devitt of Kitchener. The
new owner and his wife have reproved
to h'ordwich.
Pearl Elizabeth Mat'donald,' widow
of the late Thornton Mustard, died at
Toronto on l )ctober 14th and the fun-
eral took place at Clinton on. Thursday
last. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.
F. \V. Burch. and four sons, Charles,
Doxinjd, \Villiam and Neil.

to Retire Next Month

Lindsay will retire at the end of

The guest speaker for the afternoon. ASILFI i`LD
Mrs. Alpert Taylor of Goderich, gave
a most interesting talk on her and her
hnshand's recent trip to England. She
thld of the d'ia'rdships and sore trials
of many there and said that Canadians
have a lot to be thankful for. The
thank -offering war received and Mrs.
Taylor closed the meeting with prayer.
A social time followed.
