the way. It will be the first time for

with an 80 -foot beam in comparison
with the measurements of the North

Sheldon Baxter of tewn was engaged
as a member of the teaching staff at
a salary of"$1,500 a year.
Sinceethe meeting Miss 'Alice Wilson
of Monkton has been engaged as an-
other member of the staff, and Miss
Gertrude B, George of Bancroft has
been engaged as teacher of the auxil-
iary class. Miss George is at present
taking at course at Toronto in auxiliary,

A SUCCESSFUL -EVENT

garden party of the Women's Gelid

rectory lawn on Thursdaiy last, and

On Tuesday evening of thf:i: week,
several carloads of Baptist young
people, with friends, motored to Camp
Hermosa, on • Lake Huron, (otherwise
known as the Goderich Stunnu.r Camp,
1 -which at presant .is occupied by Bap-
, tist young folks from various pointe.
An enjoyable evening was spent. A lei-osti-Cops

GODERICH STREETS
HAVE FACE TREATMENT
For the past -week Goderichesteeets
have been -given dust-layiug treatment.
Two tankers of primer heve been used
so far and one tanker of asphalt. The
fourth tanker is now being applied.
The foes. tankers add up -to a total of
29,oca gallons. About -1,000 yaeds. of
gravel chips have beep used.
Though there is -always some 'messi-
ness" accompanying this operation

Two youths • from Gtereland, Ohio,
spent Monday night in Gooderich, en
route north on a bicycle trip of
hundreds of miles., They took a boat
from Cleveland to Detroit,. then
loicycled north. crossing into Canada
from Port Huron. Front Goderich
they headed for Georgian Bay. plan-
flpg to bicycle back -to Erieau on
Lake Erie by Sfinday to catch a, boat
back to Cleeeland. •

FUNERAL OF MRS. A. MeADAM
There was a. large attentldnce on
Friday afternoon at the- ftmerel of
Mrs. Adam MeAdani, who passed away
the previous Wednesday .after a long
illnees. The service was conducted by
Rev. Richerd Stewart of Knox Presby-
terian church at the home of Mr. Bert
MacDonald, Mrs. MeAdam's father.
