out of a motor accident must be satis-
fied, becomes effective July 1, Highways
Minister George Doucett announces.,
Every judgment whether for ` per-
sonal injuries or property damage, "if
not paid by the responsible owner or
driver, will be paid out Of a. special
Government: fund' to be known as the
unsatisfied. judgment' fund," said Mr.
Doucett.
"The limits imposed respecting pay-
ments Crum the •fund are $5,000 for
injuries to one person, -$1Q,000 for. two
or more persons and $1,000 for property
damage .relating' to `one accident.
"When the judgment is,paid from the
funst, the judgment debtor may there-
after neither own nor operate a motor

fund with interest and until he has
filed proof of financial responsibility."

the blame.

the bride's month, for already we have
been "showered" with questions relates
ing to .weddings, gifts for the bride
antl the newlyweds' purchases -for t o
hoilte,
In answer to these' requests we have
a few gift suggestions.: Do aVaid
selecting something that only pleases,
the eye or excites interest. It is
better to choose, with the thought, of
the household for which the gift is
intended, keeping' in mind the personal
taste of the bride. The couple who
enjoy gardening would surely ap-
preciate gifts quite different from Mose
that would be suitable for the newly-
wed& who dote en entertaining. And
when the dovecote is a one -room apart-
ment, gifts which will nuiike it comfort-
able would be out of places in a sub-
urban home.
A good tray is a gift for every home:
The couple whose forte is hospitality
would enthuse over modern glass and
wooden buffet pieced. Cups and saucers
are both attractive and acceptable.
Pictures require the bride's approval,
because they involve persontil taste to
such an extent. There is no more
practical gift than a good cook book
filled with tested Canadian recipes Or a
filing cabinet with cards of friends'
tested recipes—an idea for the shower
progr)uir. •
When planning a kitchen shower. -be
sure the following gadgets are among
the gifts : a durable rotary egg beater,
a three-way sifter, standard measuring
cups, a ,reasuring spoon set, an egg
lifter, a rolling pirr;-butcher knife, bread
•knife, two peeling knives, knife holder,
knife sharpener, bread board, dish cloth
and disci towels. The extras may be
purchased later as the new homemaker
finds plrkces and uses Par them. By all
means, be sure the bride has a pressure
cooker.
If possible, discuss with the bride's
friends the purclinse of large items.
Two saucephns and a large tour -quart
kettle belong in the basic equipment for
cooking. Two °cookie- sheets and a
shallow balce dish will find many uses
in the new kitchen, while two sturdy
double -bailers and a heavy skillet are
