Tilt, B.Sc., died at his home, 352 Metcalfe '€ave., Westinount (Montreal) ; on April 20th, in his sixty-ninth year. He vv€Is a son 'of -the late .Thomas Tilt, who was proprietor of the British. Ex- change Hotel here for , a number- - of year; and was Miryor of Goderich in 1906. After wending years- of youth and young nlan'hood in Goderich, "Ed." Tilt took a course at McGill University "and graduated as a B.Se. In 1903. He served- on `the staff of 'the University for a time and was the first secretary of • the graduate; endowment fund, in 'connection witih'which he accompanied the.late Sir Arthur Currie, before the latter was named principal of McGill, on a Dominion-vvide5 tour in the inter- ests • of the fund. Later ,he had. 'a varied career in engineering and busi- ness and in the first, Great War was. director of shell -testing for the Domin ion Government. During the second Great War he served as vice-president of the National Munition Co.'s plants at O}eon: N.Y. Ile was a native of Waterloo, Ont. Survivors include .his wife, formerly Miss Mabel Peters of Quebec City ; two daughters. Mrs. Harold Stewart and \Irs. John H..ealc- Dougald, and four grhndchildren, all of Montreal. The funeral took place on April 22nd,- and burial'vvas in Mount Royal cemetery.
