The Town Council at its meeting on
Friday night last again had two de-
putations before it, this time from the
- Maitland Golf Club and the Industrial
Softball League. -
F. R. Darrow, president*, and W. A.
Coulthurst, secretary, representing the
GoLf Club, as/sed for the -widening and
improvement of'thQ road leading to the
golf course froth the end ,,,,of Victoria
street. Mr. -Darrow said the road,
despite its rather dangerous,. condition,
was used last year. by over 6,000 cars,.
'and -as an active season at the Club
was in prospect this year Ole' improve-
ment of the -road was an urgeut
necessity.
The requestwas referred to com-
mittee of the whole Council.
For the softball teams J. C. Peters,
M. N. MacDonald and S. II. Shenton

It has been decided that, the junior
piano classes will be adjudicated in
MacKay Hall on May 8th and 9th.
All sessions begin on daylight saving
time. There will not be any long
,classes in the evenings. Morning ses-
sions are to commence at 9 o'clock;
afternoon seSsions at 1.30, and even-

mg sessions at 7.30.;
Admission fee. for adults in -morn-
ings and afternoons Will be 10 cent's,
in the evenings 25 cents. (ihildrenswill
be admitted free to the morning and
afterneon 'sessions, while at the even-
ing sessions there will be a silver

MRS. LULU PEARL HARKINS
. Mrs. Lulu Pearl Harkins passed
away at Minneapolis on Sunday, March
30th, in her tittsetifth year. I3orn in
Goderich in 1892' Mrs. Harkins went
to Keewatin, Ont., with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Symonds. In
1918 she mareied Joseph Harkins, who
p5edeceased her in 1920: ,She is sur-

gram, all. of Minneapolis; her father,
Charles Symonds, and offre sisters,Mrs.

Bylaw No. 13 fixed the annual license
fee for the Pavilion at $25.
Bylaw No. 14 authorized the sale
of $300 in boeds in the Robert May-k5aty

to the Robert MacKay band account.
Bylaw No; 15 repealed previous bss
