Building Project-�-A of;r,tmeits - u ° Made and Standing Committees Struck The Town Council of 1947 held its 0 inaugural meeting on Monday morning, the members being •sworn into office by, Crown Attorney D. E. Holmes. All the mein ere were present, namely, Mayor D. Ij Mooney, Reeve Geo. G. MacEwan, Deputy Reeve Geo. Mathie- son, and Councillors Clayton Edward, Earl Elliott, John L. Iluckins, Arthur Kaitting, Joseph Moody and Thomas Taylor. After the official ceremony , Mr. Mimes addressed the Council briefly, wishing the members "the best of luck" in dealing with the affairs of the Town. After_. the Mayor's inaugural address (published elsewhere) , Coun. Judkins took the floor and gave what he termed s "personal views" on the question of the proposed new publie school build- ing. The project would cost consider- able money and he thought it had not been properly explained to the rate- payers. When things were so un- settted, and material in scarce supply and of poor quality, he thought it an unsuitable time to proceed with such a building. He proposed that the Council should --call a special Meeting, get the School .
