held in Abe United church on Sunday

Mrs. Thos. Dickson, sr., was taken
quite ill last Friday and was taken to
Goderich hospital. We are glad to
know her condition is improving.
At a meeting of the teachers and
officers of the United church., Sunday
school, it was decided to hold a com-
munity entertainment and Christmas
tree on December 23rd. •

Mrs. Adam Schaefer has returned
to her home at Kitchener after spend-
ing the past threo months with her
sister. Mrs. -Jas. McKenzie. Mrs. Mc-
Kenzie accompanied her and visited
for a couple of, days with her daughter,
Mrs. Percy Dahmer.
The Farm Forum meeting has been
held in the school-house:the p_1":4 three
Monday.- evenings, with a fair attend-
ance. The meeting will be held next
Monday evening in the school and' a
good attendance is requested.
•Christ Church Guild. -The Novem-
ber meeting of the Women's -Guild of
Christ chiwill was held at the home
of Mrs. Vie. Hoy, with a good attend-
ance. The -president was in charge and
the meeting opened ,,with a hymn and
pr11yer. followed by the Scripture les-
son from the 6111 chapter of' Paul's
letter to the Ephesians read by 'Mrs.
W. Tigert.' The business period Was
conducted And an interesting7 article
from "The Northland" was given by
Mrs. A. Foster. •It Was - decided -that
a $10 donation be given the Salvation
Army for Christmas cheer - among the
needy. Rev. R. A. Joselyn's invitation
to hold the next meeting at the rectory
in Lueknow was accepted and Novem
ber '28th was set As atentative date.

some verses of poetry. Mrs. Melvin
