nual 'meeting of the Federation of Agri-
culture will be held in Holmesville
school on Thursday, November 14th, at
8 p.m., for the eleetion of officers and

will also be shown during the evening.

Hallowe'en Social. The Dramatic
-Club held a ' successful. Hallowe'en
social in the church shed on Tuesday
evening. The evening began with the
parade of characters in costume.

Cross of S.S. No. 6 entertained the par -
rents and younger 'children of the sec-
tion at a Hallowe'en soeial on Thurs-
day afternoon in the schoolhouse. The
pyogram opened with the grand march
in costume. Prize -winners were Joyce
Sowerby as ,a dainty Bo -Peep and
Elnier Sowerby as a witch. The presi-
dent, 4une Sowerby, then took charge,
Lois Sowerby acting as secretary. The
roll call was ansWered by twenty-five
members. The program consisted of
choruses, stunts, two-part songs, piano
solos, readings and contests. Three
mirth -provoking stunts were enacted
by the pupils in pantomime -"The Old
Family Ford," "Major Operation" and
"Elephant Walk." Mr. Harry Me-
Creath of ,-StatfOrd, conducted a jack-
o'lantern drawing. 611 test. John- Fal -
Oiler as the winner. All were
treated to home -Made candy, popcorn,
peanuts and apples., The meeting
'closed with ,all singing the National
Anthem.

Donated by his owner, Beverly Bodden, the rabbit intitaidated an
assortment of large animals, including two goats, and a penful og
deer, as well as beating up 'All the other rabbits. Zoo officials
finally asked Beverly to take back her rabbit, •

was the setting for the wedding on
Saturday last, at 10 a.m., of Agnes
Anitta, only dalighter of Mr. and Mrs,
Harry C. Witmer, Goderich, to Wil-
liam Leroy: only sou of Mr. and Mrs.
William McKnight,,, Nile. Pink and
white 'mums formed the background
for the ceremony, which was performed
by Rev. Richai'd Stewart. Mr. Wickett
presided at the organ. Mr. 'jack Eedy
and Mr Hugh McWhinney were ushers.
The bride, given in marriage by her
father, wore a street -length dreAs of
Pacific, blue French wool crepe with
brown accessciTies, -and carried her
,great'-great-grandinother%s Bible with a
'floral arrangement of red rosebuds.
The bridesmaid, Miss -Vereiy Bell,
chose an aqua wool, dress with .black
accessories. Her 'corsage was of red
roses. Mr. 'Percy McIlwain was
groomsman.
After the ceremony a reception -was
held‘at'the home of the bside's parteits,.
where the bride's mother' received
wearing black sheer with a layender
orchid and was assisted by. the ,bride-
groom's mother wearing black crepe
,with a whitek orchid. „

township championships for 1946 in
plowing events were announced here
last night, at a meeting of the local
committee in charge of arrangentents
for the International Plowing Mittai
held at Port Albert, October 15-18.
As part of the business of winding up,
the reports a.nd financial aspects of the
big match, the local committee com-
puted the scores made by Huron
county plowmen on -October 15, "County
Day," at the match, and determined
thewinners of $10 special prizes for
county champions, and $5 prizes. for
township champions.
. George Robertson, R.R. 5, Goderich,
was North Huron champion in, ttlictet
classes, and:Kill lam Rogerson.
Seaforth, was tractor champion,. for
'South Huron. In the 'walking plow
classes the championships were
awarded to James B. Hogg, R.R. 5,
-Seaferth, and Elmer Dennis, R.R. 1,
Walton.- There were no eligible com-
petitors :from - South Huron in the
horsedrawn classes, and the committee
last night -decided that the two special
s should go to_ the two tOrkaeorere-
fromi the north end of the county.
