on Tuesday night for the purpose of
discussing the ,recbgnition, by the
citizensof the services rendered by the
• men- and women who enlisted in the
armed: forces in World War H.
Councillor A. T. Kaitting, chairman
o the special committee of the Town
-Council, presided. He spoke of the
sacrifice and service given - by nem-
bers of the forces and added that it is
now "(Mr turn to do something for
them."
A. II. June, of the Godeisich branch
of the Canadian Legion, stated that
there were 444 names on the list pre-
pared for sending cigarettes and parcels
overseas. They were bona fide resi-
(lents of Goderich and Saltford at the
time of enlistment. After a compari-
son with an official list, Mr. Jane set
the number from Goderich at ap-
proximately 400.
