EGG PRICES ADVANCE SHARPLY
The price of eggs has shown a sharp
advance in the past week. A local egg
dealer says that for some ,reason or
other the volume of eggs being brought
in is smaller even for this time of
the year than usual. From other
sources comes On, ''opinion that ' the
heavy demand created by the number
of United States tourists visiting Can-
ada this year is responsible. , But the
chief reason probably is that the liens
are • on their seasonal sit-down strike.
Prices paid today by a local dealer to
farmers were: Grade A large, - 39e;
medium, 3Sc ; pullets, 31c ;. grade 13,
27e; grade C, 24c.
