Mr. and Mrs. Barry Armstrong cele-
brated their thirtieth wedding annivers-
ary on Saturday at the Armstrong re-
union at Pike Lake. Mrs. Armstrong
was formerly Maud Wells, of Blyth.
They have two 'sons, Jack, of Fast
Wawanosh, and Bob, at home ; also two
grandchildren, Carole and Freddie
Armstrong.

before moving to a ;farm near Walton.

the' Fisher reunion at Lions Park, 'Sea-

Picnic Meeting. -The July meeting
of • the \V.M.S., which took the form
of a picnic, was, held at ,the home of.:
the president,' Miss Currey. There
were thirteen members ; present and f
quite a few Visitors. After the de-
votional exercises, taken -liy Mrs. Haw-
kins, a .singsong was -conducted by Mrs-.
Douglas- McNeil and several readings
and poems, were given. Miss McMillan
and Mrs. Stuart Taylor then .conducted
several contests. A picnic lunch was

Welcome Home. -To L/Cpl,. Lloyd•
Westlake, ' who returned to Canada
from. overseas on the "Ile de Frazice,"
we say, "Welcome home." Lloyd is
the 'last of the boys from this commune
ity to return. He enlisted January
2nd, -1942, at London with the R.C.
A.M.C. and , went overseas in May of
that•eyear. He was with the 8th. Army
iti Italy, later transferring to the
.Provost Corps and serving 'in France,
Belgium, Holland and Germany.
Farewell Presentation. -On Thurs-
day evening last a community party
was held in the Town Hall in. honor of
Mr. John Bates, the retiring principal
of Bayfield Putlic .School. The party
was sponsored by the. pupils and ex -
pupils whom Mr. Bates had taught dur-
ing the five years he has spent in Bay-
field. The evening was spent in danc-
ing and just before' lunch wits served
Mr. Bates was called to the platform
