NILE, June 25..-:—A good -number took
in .tbe" Nile community *picnic and the
Sunbeam Club picnic on Friday. It was
quitecold, but the ralikkept off and the
various races and contests were run
through and a. good time was had by
everybody. . ,

Mr. and -Mrs. Wilmer Rutledge and,
family visited Mrs. Rutredge's sister,
Mrs. Harvey Freeland of Delhi, on Sat-
urday and Sunday. They went by
London and report a nice trip.

sister came to meet- Violet and Laura, I

was home ffve years ago, but Lura

went to Black Horse with Mary, Mrs.
McConnell, for a few days and expect
to return to Mrs. Matthews' Thursday

fusing to eat.' He wonld pick up his
food and carry it away, 'find this he
did. several times. So Mr. -Taylor de-
cided to -watch the dog and he—found,
that 'another dpg had been caught in
the fence, and his own dog was doing
without his own feed in order to keep
the other dog from starving.
W.M.S. Meeting.—The Nile ,W.M.S.
met in. the church on June 12th, with
twelve meMbers present. The meeting
Opened with a hymn, followed by
prayer by Miss Currey. The Scripture
• lesson, from the 140th Psalm, was read
by Miss AteMillan, after which an ac" -
count of "A Night at St. Paul's Hospit-
al, Hearst," was read by Mrs': Geo.
Rutledge. , The study bobk topic was
taken by, Mrs. T. McPhee. The next
meeting will be in the form of a picnic
at Miss Currey's on . Thursday, July
4th, instead of the following Wednes-
day. The offering which is taken -up
every three months will be taken at
.that meeting; alSo a birth4ay offering
Is to, be taken according to the mem-
ber's age for 1946. -Mrs; Stuart Taylor
and Mrs., John McPhee ga-ve readings
and the meeting was closed' with the
Mizpah benedictio'n. The ladies then
packed a considerable- amount of cloth-
ing which had been brought for the
clothing drive.
