A meeting of the Village Council and

and it was decided to adopt daylight
saving time, to commence at midnight

Presbyterian' church held their, Easter
thank -offering meeting at the home of
Miss ",rosepbine Weir on Thursday, The,
meeting wasin charge of the president,
who opened it with prayer. The Scrip-
ture, Psalm 111, was read by Rev. Robt.
a.ceounell, who ` also offered prayer.
The secretary's.report was read by Mrs.
Fred ,Ross. A solo was rendered by
Miss Josephine Weir. The Easter -
message was given by Donald Ross,
who chose as his message "The
Glorious Victory.',, • Mrs. Wellington
Good ,reada letter on "The Peace
Thank -offering Fund." It was de=
cided to bring in contributions to this
fund to the June meeting. Arrange-
ments were made for a quilting at the
May meeting, which will be held `in
the church. Mrs. Edgar Lawson closed
the meeting with prayer. Refresh-'
ments were served' by the hostess and
Mrs. ,Herb. Mogridge.

Grafit Turner are going into the garage
business,. having leased the Bayfield
Garage from the Supertest Oil Com-
pany. Both these young men, veterans,
are experienced mechanics and Mr.
Francis is also a radio repair man.
We wish them all kinds of success in
their new venture.
