Extra Accommodation' at the hospital
has been seen to .be urgent for the

Mr. Bridgman's plans will be sub-

proved, the Board of Governors will-
-consider what steps should be taken

• This Port
The •first lake 'vessel of the season
'arrived in Goderich on Saturday even-
ing? the Imperial Oil tanker Imperoyal,
,Putting,in. at this lake port at 9.30.
This was the second earliest arrival of
a vessel at this port. In history, the
earliest being that of the Acadialite
on ,'March '21, 1942.
The Jraperoyai-,set, oat from Sarnia
at one o'clock Saturday afternoon and
its crew reperLed uo-ive on -tile- lake
,in its journey to Ooderich. Captain
MeLelland, skipper er-the Ifitperoyal,'
was tendered a civic " eeception at
the Town Hall at 11 o'clock Saturday

The ice has, completely -,diettppeared
off this harbor as far as the'eye can
see, and workmen are as busy as b.e.e§
around -a hive as they race to complete
repaiks of, ships • of the winter fleet
before sailing time. Electricians,
welders, plumbers, . carpenters , and
painters -are -going full blast to cam-

of all the-shipi are now here and
they (1, -re hurriedly bringing.theii: ships
into ghape for the new season. The
forward crews- ,hare --not -yet arrived,

Groceries, Meat and other provisions
are being loaded- on the Vessels so
that a full „stock -will be on hand by
sailing time.
The ,package freighter Algonquin is
expected to be'the first ship to leave
here this spring, It will go • down' the
lakes as soon as the Wellandcanal
is open for passage. This is notex-
pected to be until April 8th. The of-
navigatioe se4on does not Open
until April 15th.
Although great success in commercial
perch ffshing is reported . from Bay-
field, Goderich' fisliernien have not as
yet' been able to set their nets, -due to
the delay in *receiving some necessarj&

Deices at present being paid for perch
has the local fishermen "champing at
the bit" for the chence to lay' their
nets outside of eGoderich, where they
believe the -fish will be just as plentiful
as, at Bayfield.
Bert MacDonald,- popular bathing -
house and pleasure boat operator is

from a iecent opereation. Bert ap-
