The geniel editor of the Lucian
iee, and got on the track or a boy
named Walter Riohardson. He ar-
rested him and - had him examined
before W. Lewis and 0. Silber, of
Oredilon. The boy said he was told
to let the oil off, and then some other
boys were going to set the plane on
fire. One reason was that the boys
did not like W. J., as he had people
arrested and sent to jail. He also
gave a number of other readout. Two
other boys were arrested, Samuel
Englih and Albert Armstrong, blip on
examination they were acquitted, the
evidence not being strong enough.
The magistrates expressed themselves
in doubt as to the innocence of the
two boys,•and warned them if any-
thing I:xrned up giving more light
they might expect to be called up
again. 'Dung Richardson was held
in Crediton, while the magistrates
communioatedr with the grown At-
torney. Word hes bean received from
the Crown Attorney, dlreoting the
magistintes to dismiss the boy, .:for
the following reasons : .1st, the boy
is youug. 2nd, he WAS made - a cat's
'paw for old and worse'bdys. 3rd, the
boy says he had the tap'' loosened by
other boys, and when he polled out
t:be tap he tried to put it in again to
bt,ep the oil, `4th, the boy was °berg•
ed with maliciously destroying the
prop arty, which would be felony, and
he oo1'isideee the boy too young to
commit a felony. The boy has given
the names of a number of other boys
that were in the plot, and, the Crown
Attorney thinks t eey are the ones that
