Louis Riel.
The Globe has taken to booming
Louis Riel once more. The Manitoba
rebellion would never have acquired
the destructive force which marked it
but for the encouragement, direct and
indirect, which the authote received
from the Ontario Government.
Riel is now in the North-West in-
stigating the half-breeds to rebellion
because the Government will not ac
cede to their unreasonable demands,
which ara :
(1) the sub division into provinces
of the North-West Territories ; (4)
the half breeds to receive the same.
grants and other advantages as the
Manitoba half-breeds ; (3) patents to
be issued at once to the colonists in
possession ; (4) the sale of half a
million acres of Doaminion lands, the
proceeds to be applied to the estab-
lishment in the half•breed settlements
of schools, ' hospitals, and such like
