A case of interest to publishers and
readers came before Judge Doyle in
the Divisional ICourt •Goderioh Mon-
day. A resident of this County had
been receiving THE,ST411 from its pre
sent•publisber, aid when billed with
an account tor four years subscription
refused to pay on the ground that he
neyer ordered the paper, and had no
tified the former management, some
eight years ago, that he did not want
it. The paper had not been discon-
tinued then, and his name still- ap-
peared on the subscription list assum-
ed by the present publisher. The
judge beld shah, as the defendant had
giyeu no notice to the plantiff, bub had
still received the paper, he was liable
for the four years, and gape judgment
accordingly,
