church and was addressed by Revs.
Dioksou, Pascoe, Stewart, of Clinton,

dealt obiefly with the Contention of
the antl•Soott Act advaoetea that the
Act interferes with personal liberty,
and pointed out that every law inter-
feres with pereonal liberty more or
less, not excepting the liquor license
law, which prevents minors and In-
dians from purchasing liquor and
will nob allow it to be sold to any 1
person on Sundays, election days and
Saturdays after 7 o'clock p. m. The
sanitary laws, which will not allow a
man the liberty to keep a nuisance on
his premises, and other laws were re-
ferred to to prove that there was as
good ground for objection io them as
there was for objectiug to the So! tt
Aot on the personal liberty score.
To•morrow.(Friday evening a pub-
lic meeting will be held in the Exeter
school hall," when Rev. Jae Smith, of
Toronto, and Rev. G. B. Taylor,,
(Church of England) hayfield and

Two Farmers Robbed.
On Saturday night about I1 o'olook
two men came to Mr. Hill's place,
oouoeseaon 7, Township Morris, near
Brussels, Go. Huron, and asked for
admiion, which Wee refused by Mr.
Hill. After a few minutes the door
was broken in with a plank, and the
leen rushed upon him, one presenting
a revolver and demanding .hia money
or his life. He insisted that lie had
no money. One man; kept. watch
over Hill while the other searched the
house and stole $20 from a oheel in an
adjoining room. They then tore up
a bag and tied Rill hand and feet to
the bedpost and lett. Between 12 and
