Dungannon, Friday afternoon. Help-
ful talks were given by those • ex-
periericed in that work. The girls are
to have a garden ef their ..2wn this
year, and later in the summer it will
be judged.
The W. M. S. of the United Church
met Thursday afternoon at Mrs. Or-
villd Free's with about 20 present.
The meeting' opened with the hymn,
"From Greenland% Icy Mountains,"
after which Mr. Pomeroy led in
prayer. The Scripture lesson was
taken bv Mrs. Syllib. Treasurer and
Secretary's reports were read and
adopted, and the roil call followed.
Mrs. Lechler read the 'Devotional
Leaflet Which proved very helpful.
Part of the study book' was read by
Mrs. Pomeroy. Business was also die -
cussed, arrangements being made for
a garden party in the United Church.
"Take My Life and Let it Be," was
sung .berore the `hostess served a ze-
-dreshing lunch.

exercises using the hymn "Beneath

PORTER'S HILL, May 27.—On
Sunday. Rev. Wiley of Benmillee,
spoke in Grace Church, to a well-fill-
ed. house. He took as his text, Luke
1.15, "For He Shall be Great in the
Sight•of the Lord." He .brought out
very vividly the difference betwe.3n
man's estimate of greatness and
God's estimate. A male choir under
the direction of Mr. Pete Young and
Mrs.„ Verna Harris, presiding at tile
organ, rendered acceptable music A
male quartette comprised of Ray
Cox, Argyte Loekhart, Glen Lockhart
and Charlie Wilson, sang "Ia that
Beautiful Land." The Church was
nicely decorated with cut flowers.
Next Sunday,' sacrament of the
Lord's supper will be given at 3 p.m.
On Sunday, June 7th, the Young
People's Union will have as their
speaker, Mr. George Taylor of Wing -
ham, secretary of Y. P. Union. This
will be an interesting service •to all
those interested in the Young People..
