,which occurred shortly after the
meeting started and which Mayor
iMacEwan was called on to break.
The question was the appointnient of
a trustee to the Collegiate Institute
Board. A motion • by douncillor
Craigie, that Mr. C. NIC. Saunders be

was followed by an amendment by
Councillor Huckins, naming Mr. St,
George Price. Councillors Craigie,
Bingham, Brown and Baker voted
• nay to the- amendment, the, Mayor
casting the deciding ballot in favour
of Mr. Saunders.
Later when the bylaw regarding
the Board member was being passed
• Counciller Munlier asked that his
vote be recorded as limy in the re-
cords. • He exolained that his
reason was that Mr. Price had never
had anything of that nature to do,
though. he would be a good man.
:Mayor MacEwan agreed with Mr.
Humber, and declared that he found
it hard to choose between the tWo
men, but that Mr• -Saunders has had
