Chicago, spent . a very pleasant day
at Niagara Falls:

church on Sunday next, Sept. 15, on
account of Anniversary services at
the Ebenezer appointment, services
there in afternoon ,and evening con-
ducted by Rev. De Witt Cousins of
Wesley -Willis church.
Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Conway and
son Max., of Thamesford, also Mrs.
D. Bruce Sr, and Mr. and Mrs. Gor-
don Bruce and Mr. and Mrs. Marshal
of Hickson, visited at the parsonage
on Sunday.
The opening meeting of the Y. P.
S. on Friday night, was very successs
ful, the program being of an excel-
lent and interesting nature. One re-
gret •was that the attendance was be-
low the usual average, only about 30
being present. It is hoped the re-
mainder of the members come- put
this coming Friday evening. Any
other young people are also warmly
invited to join. Miss Jean Webster,
presidlant, was in charge of the meet-
ing which opened with the singing of
hymns. 3liss Charlotte Trewartha,
acting as pianist; the minutes were
read by Miss Grace McMath, in the
absence of the regular secretary. Af-
ter a business discussion, during
•which several items of interest were
discussed, Miss Alma Trewartha
-read the scripture lesson and cosi,
ments. to place of a ,written topic,
Rev. Mr. Herbert spoke for a few
moments, delivering a talk which lif-
ted thoughts to higher ground. The
musical numbers for the evening was
a pleasing piano solo, played by Miss
Gertrude Bond. Two or three friend-
ly games were participated in before
the meeting drew to a close with the
Mizpah Benedictions Friday evening.
Sept. 13th, Mr. Mervyn Lobb, Mis-
sionary Convener, will be in charge.
The meeting is to commence at 81
o'clock, sharp.

The church was beautifully decora-
ted with white lilies, with pastel
shades of gladoli and asters, and with
palms and ferns, the entrance, elec-
tric lights and chandeliers were fes-
tooned with autumn leaves and flow-
ers with aspargus fern.
The. bride' wure white french broca-
ded velvet, her mother's wedding veil
of tulle and old rose point, and car-
ried a shower bouquet of white lilies -
of -the -valley,- bouvardia and mauve
orchids with maidenhair fern.
The maid of honour was Miss
Agnes- Gombe, the -bride's -only -sister,-
who wore carmencita shade of chif-
fon velvet, and .a matching togue
with ostrich plume failing down one
side, almost to the shoulder.

Miss Elaine Bamford has been en-
gaged as teacher for the .D.onnybrook
school.
It was mentioned in The Goderich
Star of last week, that, Miss, June
Buchanan had been successful' in re-
ceiving 'the Western : University
Scholarship which entitled her -to two
years free tuition. She has since re-
ceived word that she has been award-
ed the Schoalrship given by the
Daughters of the - ,Empire to Soldiers' I
_orphans, -which . entitles- her to four
years tuition at the University. Miss
Buchanan is receiving many congra-
tulations on her success.

The best man was Mr. Jas., A. Har-
shaw of Toronto, and the ushers were
Mr. W. Paul Willis of St. Thomas and
Mr. Owen Combe, brother of the
bride.
The organist, Professor Andertbn
of Clinton, played suitably through-
out the ceremony, the choir singing
that beautiful hymn, "Gracious Spirit
Heavenly Ghost", during the signing
of the register.
After the ceremony, a reception
was held at the house, where guests
from Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, To-
ronto, St. Thomas, Stratford, Goder-
ich, Winnipeg and Clinton, were re-
ceived by Colonel and Mrs. Combe
and Mrs. Troop. Mrs, Troop, mother
of the gr•oofn, wore a panne' velvet
coat suit of taupe shade, with small
matching hat and silver fox fur. Mrs.
Combe's suit of flowered chiffon with
black background, was worn with a
hat of black panne velvet and a black
fox fur. -
The bride's going away dress was
a two-piece suit of golfex minton-
green, with small russian pill -box hat

of his work which has been issued, 'in
revised and enlarged form. Bach vol-
